Joining TUSC, Answering your FAQs:

What is the difference between being a general member vs. an executive member?

Deciding your level of involvement with TUSC:

General Member:

  • Commit to attending TUSC events as often as possible

  • (up to 2 events per month)

  • Gain access to our club space on campus where we will host "club hours" for our members to hang out and socialize

  • Show enthusiasm for creating a student community within sociology (and possibly have the intention of becoming an executive in the future).

Executive Member:

  • Same responsibilities as a general member, with the addition of one meeting per week with other executives to help plan TUSC events

  • Spreading the word about our club's activities to others in your year of study

What executives positions are open this year?

The Trent University Sociology Collective (TUSC) is looking for TWO new executive members: lower-year representatives (1st and 2nd year students).

If you are not in first or second year but still have a strong desire to apply for our executive team, please send us an email: tusc@trentu.ca.

So what's the benefit? Why join?

One sentence:

Leave Trent with more than a piece of paper.

Joining TUSC demonstrates that you want more out of your university experience as a Sociology or Criminology student.

More connections; more opportunities; more memories.

At TUSC, we want to give students a sense of belonging and community within the larger landscape of Trent. We know how quickly four years can pass by; our club's mission is to encourage students to get to know others in their program so that these connections may enrich their lives, both within and beyond their time at university.
